perma STAR CONTROL

In contrast to the perma STAR VARIO (with battery pack), the perma STAR CONTROL is supplied with external power via cable. The operating status can be transmitted to a PLC and evaluated. The two integrated operating modes TIME and IMPULSE offer flexible use. In TIME mode, lubricant discharge is based on operating hours. In IMPULSE mode, a precisely defined quantity is dispensed as soon as voltage is supplied.

The perma STAR CONTROL consists of an electromechanical drive and an LC with 60 cc, 120 cc, 250 cc or 500 cc of lubricant. The required mode is set on the drive. Lubrication is precise and temperature-independent at a counter pressure up to 109 psi | 7.5 bar.

perma STAR CONTROL is used to lubricate roller and sliding bearings, sliding guides, open gears, gear racks, spindles, shaft seals and chains. Due to the precise lubricant metering, perma STAR CONTROL is ideally suited for lubrication of electric motors with specified lubricant quantities. The system is protected against dust and water jets, subject to correct assembly of the individual parts (IP65).

Frequently Asked Questions About perma STAR CONTROL

Find answers to common questions about powering, configuring and using perma STAR CONTROL for externally controlled automatic single-point lubrication.

perma STAR CONTROL is designed for automatic single-point lubrication of roller and sliding bearings, sliding guides, open gears, gear racks, spindles, shaft seals and chains. Its precise lubricant metering also makes it well suited for electric motors that require defined lubricant quantities.

Unlike battery-powered perma STAR VARIO, perma STAR CONTROL is supplied with external power through a cable. STAR CONTROL can also transmit operating status to a PLC and offers TIME and IMPULSE operating modes for externally controlled lubrication.

In TIME mode, lubricant discharge is based on operating hours. In IMPULSE mode, the system dispenses a precisely defined lubricant quantity when voltage is supplied. The appropriate mode depends on how the equipment is controlled and how lubricant delivery should be tied to machine operation.

perma STAR CONTROL requires an external 9-30 V DC power supply with a maximum current of 0.5 A. Because the system is externally powered, the electrical connection and control arrangement should be planned as part of the installation.

Yes. The operating status of perma STAR CONTROL can be transmitted to a PLC and evaluated by the plant control system. This allows lubrication-system status to be incorporated into the facility's existing control and monitoring process.

perma STAR CONTROL is available with 60, 120, 250 and 500 cc lubricant canisters. In TIME mode, discharge settings are available in monthly and weekly intervals. The 60 cc LC includes extended monthly settings up to 24 months, while the 500 cc LC has a maximum discharge period of six months.

Yes. The system can build pressure up to 109 psi, or 7.5 bar, and supports remote mounting with a lubrication line up to 16 feet, or 5 meters. Remote mounting can place the lubricator in a safer or easier-to-access location while continuing to supply the lubrication point.

The push button on the display can be used for manual additional discharge. perma identifies this purge function as a way to supply extra lubricant and help clear blockages at the lubrication point.

perma states that the lubricant canister can be exchanged during running operation when the installation allows safe access to the lubricator. This is one reason remote mounting can improve serviceability. Always follow site safety procedures and equipment requirements.

perma STAR CONTROL can dispense grease up to NLGI 2 or oil. Lubricant selection should follow the equipment manufacturer's requirements and account for operating temperature, lubrication-point resistance and the installation
