perma FUTURA

Frequently Asked Questions About perma FUTURA

Find answers to common questions about selecting, activating and using perma FUTURA for automatic single-point lubrication in hygienic, corrosive and demanding industrial environments.

perma FUTURA is designed for automatic single-point lubrication of roller and sliding bearings, sliding guides, open gears, gear racks, spindles, shaft seals and chains. Its corrosion-resistant plastic housing makes it especially suitable for hygienic applications and operating conditions that may corrode metal lubricators.

perma FUTURA uses a corrosion-resistant transparent plastic housing rather than a metal housing. perma specifically identifies the system for areas that must be kept hygienically clean and for applications in the food industry where corrosion resistance can be important.

The transparent housing keeps the piston position visible, allowing the lubricant fill level to be checked without opening the system. This provides a simple visual indication of lubricant consumption during operation.

perma FUTURA uses color-coded activator screws for one-time activation. Available discharge periods are 1, 3, 6 or 12 months for the 120 cc lubricant volume. The activator should be selected before activation based on the application's lubrication requirement and operating conditions.

perma FUTURA is designed to operate from 32°F to 104°F (0°C to 40°C). Because the system uses an electrochemical gas generator, the application should be evaluated within this specified operating range when choosing the discharge period.

Yes. perma FUTURA supports remote mounting with a maximum tube length of 3.2 feet, or 1 meter. Remote mounting can help relocate the lubricator when the lubrication point is difficult to access or direct mounting is not practical. Use suitable accessories and follow perma's installation guidance.

perma FUTURA carries Ex certification and mining approval. perma identifies the system as suitable for approved explosive areas and underground use, subject to the applicable product approvals and site requirements.

perma FUTURA can dispense grease up to NLGI 2 or oil. Lubricant selection should be based on the equipment manufacturer's recommendations, operating conditions and lubrication-point requirements. Additional information is available in the perma lubricants section.
